On Thursday before Easter, we paint eggs. It's both a wonderful artistic endeavor for the whole family, a chance to make a big mess in the kitchen and also an excuse to eat eggs in large amounts for a few days in a row. This year I painted with my cousin and we chose to do some quail eggs, instead of just hen eggs. Quail eggs are very cute and seem to absorb paint very well and you can eat more than one at a time, so what's to lose?
A few tips if you have never painted:
1. Use some vinegar in the water for dissolving the paints
2. Use oil to shine the eggs, I used rice bran oil but really, any liquid oil will do.
3. Don't use gloves, they don't help an artist.
